That is the prize fund guaranteed so far in the biggest portrait photography competition to be launched in Ireland this year. It begins on Friday 2nd October.
The competition is entitled ‘Miss Palace’ , it will take place in The Palace Nightclub in Navan in association with The Meath Chronicle Newspaper and David McLean SWPP of DMC Photography.
The competition is the brainchild of David McLean, an award winning photographer based in Navan, the aims of the competition are:
1. To discover a young lady who will be the face of The Palace Nightclub for 2010.
2. To promote local businesses who are sponsoring prizes for the monthly winners and the winner and runners up in the Grand Finale which takes place early next year.
3. To give every entrant the opportunity to become ‘Miss Palace 2010 and win valuable prizes including top class photographic portraits and stylish portfolios which could help them to launch a career in the lucrative world of modelling.
4. To give exposure to prize sponsors, entrants in the competition and monthly winners by means of special features which will be run in The Meath Chronicle Newspaper, the preferred media partner in this venture.

The format of the competition is simple. Any young lady over the age of 18 and a patron of The Palace Nightclub in Navan can enter. Although the title of the competition is ‘Miss Palace’ the entry is not restricted to single young ladies, if you are female and of an age that you frequent The Palace Nightclub you can enter. Not all of the beautiful ladies are still single !
Each entrant will have a selection of full length and head and shoulder portraits taken by David McLean in The Palace Nightclub. For the entry fee of only €10 they will receive two professionally mounted 7”x5” portraits of their choice from the selection taken at their personal photo shoot. Already everyone is a winner as these 2 portraits would cost considerably more if ordered from DMC Photography following a normal portrait sitting.
To enter you simply fill in the competition entry form which will be available in The Palace Nightclub . Then leave your entry form in the special box in The Palace Nightclub and fill in you preferred time slot for your portrait session on the time sheet beside the entry box.
You can also enter on-line using the form at the end of this page and we will contact you to arrange a suitable time for your photo shoot.
All you have to do then is choose your favourite outfit, check the hair and make-up and turn up at your chosen time and enjoy the whole experience. Feel free to bring a friend along if you are nervous.
When you arrive for your portrait shoot you can check out a selection of poses on a computer screen and choose which ones you feel most comfortable with and then David will proceed to take your portraits in your chosen poses.
The whole experience will be very relaxed and should take no more than 10 – 15 minutes. You will be given a password for a private portfolio on David’s website www.dmc-photography.eu where you can view your portraits a few days later and choose which ones you wish to receive and also which portrait you would like to enter in the competition.
Your chosen portraits will be available for collection in The Palace Nightclub within a few days of you making your choice.
The portrait which you choose to enter in the competition will go on display in The Palace Nightclub along with the other entries for that particular month.
The monthly competition entries will also be available to view on this site in a special portfolio and people can vote for their favourite on-line using the voting form attached to the portfolio.
Anyone attending the Palace Nightclub can view the entries on display and vote for their choice of monthly winner simply by filling in a voting card which will be available in the nightclub. Multiple votes by one person will be ruled out as each voting card must have a mobile number and or an e-mail address filled in or it will be invalid.
Each month a selection of entries will be printed in The Meath Chronicle and can be seen at www.dmc-photography.eu

Each month the winner and two runners-up will be chosen by the voters selecting their favourite entry and they will all receive prizes which will be presented at The Palace Nightclub. The value of the monthly prizes to be shared between the winner and the 2 runners-up will be at least €1000.00.
